Ever wondered how to feel truly safe within yourself and embrace your authentic self? 

Well, you’re not alone! In our quest for self-actualization and deep connections, we often overlook the crucial aspect of finding safety within ourselves. 

Feeling safe within isn’t just about external circumstances; it’s about finding peace and comfort in your own internal world, no matter what’s happening around you. 

We’ve all made the mistake of thinking that feeling secure means everything around us has to be perfect. But that’s not the secret to true confidence!

It’s all about getting really intimate and vulnerable with what is going on in our internal world. 

The Paradox of Creating Safety Within

And so, here’s the twist – a primary condition for feeling safe within is a bit paradoxical.

Instead of trying to “feel safe,” we need to learn how to be comfortable with those not-so-cozy feelings, emotions and sensations within. 

It’s like hitting play on an action movie. Remember those moments when the action freezes? Well, that’s what happens when we suppress our feelings. 

When we abandon ourselves in the quest for external safety, our self-trust takes a nosedive, leaving us feeling disconnected and powerless.

By diving into those internal sensations and emotions, and staying with them, we allow ourselves to complete the action, freeing up our life force energy.

This newfound connection with ourselves allows us to hold space for our emotions and embrace our true, authentic selves.

Embracing inner safety is a transformative journey towards authenticity and fulfilment.

As we embark on this path, we unlock the door to a fulfilling life, rooted in our truth, pleasure, joy, and satisfaction.

Embodiment and Tapping Into The Wisdom Of Your Body ( what you need to know)

By connecting with our body wisdom, we can break free from self-sabotaging patterns, align ourselves with our authentic truth, and cultivate a sense of empowerment that flows into every aspect of our lives.

The way to do that is through embodiment.  

At least, embodiment is the best way that I know of to embrace your authentic self and come back to wholeness for a more vibrant and fulfilling life.

Embodiment is not just about practising yoga, dancing, doing tai chi, or meditation; although all of these have elements of embodiment to them.

My definition is embodiment is being in contact with the full experience of yourself. It is to inhabit your being, and embrace the truth of who you are. It’s a daily practice, a skill that we learn to align ourselves with a more fulfilling and richer way of living.

Cultivating Sensitivity: The First Principle

Tapping into body wisdom begins with cultivating sensitivity, allowing yourself to feel deeply and connect with your sensations and emotions. By paying attention to the currents of aliveness within you, you can start to liberate frozen tension and tap into your own nervous system. This helps you understand yourself better and allows you to experience more pleasure and fulfilment in life.

Learning the Language of Your Body: The Second Principle

For many of us, it can be very painful to be in our bodies. And then, our world encourages us to “get on with it” and learn to live with the discomfort. And so, we often talk about our feelings, but there’s a difference between talking about them and being in the feeling of them. Learning the language of your body means delving into your unique constellation of feelings and sensations. By staying present with these emotions and sensations, you gain valuable insights and to tapping into body wisdom can guide your decisions and actions.

Embrace All Aspects of Yourself: The Third Principle

In the practice of embodying yourself, you begin to embrace all aspects of who you are. This includes the shadows, chaos, and unknown parts. Rejecting certain aspects of ourselves can lead to self-judgment, self-sabotage, and a feeling of being incomplete. Embrace the wholeness of who you are, and you’ll experience a deeper connection and self-love that can positively impact all areas of your life.

Deepen the Trust in Yourself: The Fourth Principle

Developing trust in yourself is essential for embodying your authentic self. Learn to listen to your inner guidance, trust your intuition, and make decisions aligned with your true desires and values. By doing so, you can move through life with confidence and authenticity. This will ask of you to be with the discomfort of moving away from always looking to external sources for guidance. 

Living as Your Authentic Self: The Fifth Principle

Living as the truest version of yourself means embracing your authentic essence in this moment, not striving for a future version of yourself. We often hold the disembodiment fallacy of only accepting ourselves once we have attained certain conditions (ideal weight, controlled emotions, loving relationship, fulfilling job). I believe that when we are able to be with ourselves where we are right now, it leads to acceptance and fulfilment.

It’s been a journey for me to move from the numbed-out and overwhelmed version of myself to embody my queen energy and become the woman I am today. 

I feel that as we get older,  we start to wonder what’s next. We desire and yearn for something more, but we don’t always know what this “more” is, never mind expressing or even quantifying what it is that we want. 

So many women get to this stage in their lives, only to feel that they are stuck in a rut.  They are packed tight under conditioning, layers, and habitual patterns that run on repeat. 

When we have this deep yearning in searching for our purpose, or even find ourselves again, it’s often difficult for us to imagine how we can get there.

How To Start Living From Inner Freedom And Feel More Fully Alive

Finding pleasurable moments in everyday life is a big part of having inner freedom and living fully alive. 

Life has many flavors and layers, and I believe that part of our purpose here on earth, is to experience the exquisiteness of it all.  

But, it can be challenging to step into this space of becoming deeply connected to yourself and your life force energy.  Our culture certainly doesn’t make things easier.  Getting caught up in a vortex of self-shaming makes it almost impossible to live as our true selves.  

We have to be deliberate in changing our habits and conditioned responses so that we can live in a way where we honor ourselves, where we make space for everyday pleasure and have access to our rich inner world.

When we connect to our feminine energy, we can become truly authentic.

Through the feminine, we connect to our intuition and the wisdom of our bodies.

As we embrace all of ourselves, we show up as who we really are and in that, we find the freedom to speak our truth.

As you go about your day, there are many ways in which you can practice connecting to your feminine energy.

The one way is more formal in nature.

This is when you set aside special dedicated time for you to devote to your well-being and self-care, and the different things that you can do to nourish yourself.

And so the second way is more informal.

Instead of only connecting during dedicated times, you make a practice of dropping in moment by moment.
