The signs you are disembodied may not be obvious at first.
Many of us may feel that we are not able to be in the present moment, especially with all the responsibilities we have and all the things we feel we need to take care of.
Often, this could mean that you spend a lot of time in a state of being disembodied, without realizing it.
To be embodied means that are fully in your body and fully in the present moment. Of course, you can’t be 100% inside your body all the time.
You will simply be overwhelmed and your nervous system will be in overdrive.
The fact that you have a body, means that you always are embodied to some extent.
And so when you are disembodied, it also doesn’t mean that you are completely outside of your body.
It simply means that you are not present to what is happening in your inner world.
You don’t fully feel the feelings and sensations that are inside the body.
There is nothing to be fixed about often being disembodied. Instead, I invite you to consider simply learning the skill of being more embodied, more of the time.
Why we disembody
The modern world makes it very easy to become distracted from your desires and needs.
The way of the world is to encourage logic over intuition. Planning over emotion. Forward movement over pausing.
We have become skilled in living from the head up, ignoring the signals from our body when to rest and when to take action.
