It really sucks how being a perfectionist affects you in everything you do. To stop being a perfectionist takes self-awareness, introspection and also breaking down those subconscious beliefs that make you think you are not enough, and that you should try harder. It is also a very lonely place to be, since nobody really understands that nearly uncontrollable urge to do everything just right, unless they are perfectionists themselves. It is not easy to overcome perfectionism but it is possible.
I decided to republish this video with the intent that it may help anyone else who battles with being a perfectionist. It can easily take over your life, but it doesn’t have to be like that. There is hope, and I am grateful to say that I am now a recovering perfectionist.
