Most people will agree that having an effective morning routine method helps set a good foundation for your day.
However, many people struggle to find a morning routine that works for them, and there is a good reason why that is. What works for me won’t necessarily work for you!
We all have different life situations, we have different types of energy and ultimately we all have different goals and dreams.
So, it makes sense that you develop a morning routine method that actually works with wherever you are in your life.
The benefit of morning routines
When you start your day off with a morning ritual, you are basically taking control of your brain. It’s like you’re telling your subconscious mind, thanks for playing, but today I will take charge of my decisions, and my thinking.
It is easy to slip into autopilot mode where you simply go through the action of living without consciously creating your days.
The whole purpose then, of having an effective morning routine method, is to become the master of your life and future. You become intentional in your choices and ultimately you will find that you have more resilience in dealing with any daily challenges that may arise.
5 Simple Steps
Trying to plug someone else’s routine into your lifestyle can be frustrating and many people give up because of this. However, having a morning routine sets you up for the day, and it is a key ingredient in helping you achieve your goals!
When I started experimenting with different routines, I got frustrated because a lot of the routines out there simply didn’t fit into my lifestyle.
Over the past 2 years, I’ve managed to hone down my personal morning routine and in the process, I’ve identified 5 core ingredients to a successful routine.
1 Get up earlier
Getting up earlier gives you the time to be intentional with your life.
2 Get enough sleep
Get enough sleep so that you can maintain your energy levels during the day and not turn into a cranky monster.
3 Wake your body and mind
After being in bed for between 6-8 hours, waking your body and mind with exercise and meditation sets you up for the day.
4 Set a daily intention
Setting an intention grounds you and supports you in handling any challenges during the day.
5 Clutter-free space
Don’t let clutter distract you during this important time for yourself.
Next steps
Once you have these essential components in place you can bring in different things, such as journaling, reviewing your goals or reading for your personal growth.
Morning routines let you be intentional with your life, which in turn can improve many different areas of your life.
These 5 simple steps are the key ingredients to any successful routine.
If you struggle to nail down your morning routine, this method will help you create a routine that works with your life.
