
For us to fully flourish and to move from feeling stuck, numb, and unfulfilled to a place where we have access to everyday pleasure, where we feel radiant and connected to our own inner aliveness, we have to be in our bodies.
Which is really hard to do when we don’t feel emotionally safe.
The first thing that probably comes to mind when you hear the word safety is your physical safety. We are constantly, either deliberately or unconsciously, scanning our environment for danger, to see whether we are safe. But so often it may happen that even though we are safe on the outside, meaning externally there’s no obvious or apparent threat, we are feeling unsafe internally.
The way that we can tend to deal with this is to escape out of the body and into our minds where we rationalize, deny, analyze, and do the different things that we need to do in order to survive. We do it because this is how we can cope in the best way at that point in time.
So as we avoid feeling our body and the sensations and feelings present there, we send our energy up into our heads and it can get stuck there. In this episode, we look at how to cultivate emotional safety from within, so we don’t stay stuck in our heads but instead live self-sovereign and as our own authority.
