How to Self-Care so You Feel Nourished

Self-care can empower and nourish your feminine energy. 

And yet for many of us, self-care is not something that comes easily.

By understanding the resistance we often encounter we can overcome these barriers and discover how to integrate self-care seamlessly into our lives.

The Overwhelming Busyness

One significant stumbling block preventing us from prioritizing self-care is our perpetual busyness. Our lives brim with responsibilities, leaving little capacity to hold space for ourselves. 

However, as we delve deeper into our feminine energy and essence, we gradually develop the ability to expand our capacity. We learn to hold more space, more love, more grace, and we honour our authentic selves.

The Role of Boundaries

Boundaries play a pivotal role in prioritizing our own needs, not in a selfish manner, but as a means of resourcefulness. By setting healthy boundaries, we empower ourselves to show up as the best and most authentic versions of who we truly are. 

We have become experts at nurturing, but often neglect our own well-being. Failing to conform to external standards of nurturing can evoke feelings of inadequacy and guilt. This guilt-laden cycle leads us to overcompensate by giving too much, ultimately resulting in resentment. It is crucial to recognize this detrimental pattern and break free from its grip.

Dispelling the Myth of Expensive Self-Care

A common misconception about self-care is that it requires a lot of financial investment. 

While there is an entire industry built around commercialized self-care products and services, true self-care transcends material possessions or products. 

Authentic self-care involves taking action and being in a that deeply fulfils us. It entails consciously support into our daily lives to nourish our feminine energy.

Overcoming Blocks and Choosing Differently

If you resonate with any of the four blocks hindering your self-care journey, it’s time to take action. 

If self-care continually finds itself at the bottom of your to-do list or you believe you simply don’t have time for it, consider exploring the limiting beliefs that anchor this mindset. 

Challenge them and choose differently. 

Choose to commit to making self-care a non-negotiable.

This commitment harnesses our masculine energy, providing the necessary structure and support for our feminine energy to relax, be nourished, and have her needs met.

How to Nourish your Feminine Energy

Walking the path of the feminine involves developing a profound connection with your intuitive wisdom, self-compassion, self-love, and self-acceptance. Embracing embodiment as a way of being, empowers us to infuse our lives with self-care. 

A simple practice to cultivate embodiment is to check in with yourself upon waking and before sleeping. This mindful moment enables you to tune into your feelings and emotions, fostering a deeper connection with your truth.

By embodying our divine feminine essence and embracing intentional living, we unlock the wisdom and compassion within, allowing us to embark on a journey of self-discovery and fulfilment.

3 Ways To Practice Self Love And Heal Your Life

Consistent self-love practices create a nurturing relationship with yourself.

This is a game-changer. 

How you talk to yourself, and maybe even more importantly, how you feel about yourself has a direct impact on your relationships with others. 

It feeds the confidence that you have in going after your goals.

It informs the way in which you move through the world.  

Sensitive women in particular may struggle with the effects of a negative inner critic or feel overwhelmed more easily. So, for them it’s really important to learn self-love practices.

Something that most of the women that I speak to in my coaching practice struggle with are feelings of guilt around taking time for themselves.

This is a real thing, this guilt about taking care of ourselves. 

And I believe it has so much to do about how we’ve been socialised as women. It has been imprinted into us that we need to take care of everyone else around us first. Unless of course we want to be seen as selfish.  

Then, when we’re done taking care of others, we can use whatever resources and energy we have left to take care of ourselves.

The only way out of this that I see is to disconnect and unhook from the socialised and conditioned view of what it means to love yourself and to connect to the wisdom of your own truth. 

3 Ways To Practice Self Love And Heal Your Life

Also, as we go about our modern lives, most women tend to spend a lot of time in their minds, whether it’s for solving problems at work, or for taking care of their families at home.

If you’re spending so much time in your mind, it’s easy to get stuck in the story of how you should be better and how things should be different.

This in turn feeds into the guilt and shame that was bred on a socialised and conditioned bed.  

When you have a  practice of connecting into the body, you don’t as much process whatever it is that you’re feeling on a mind level.

Instead you really work with the somatic experience of your inner world.

This is what get’s you to go beneath the surface and get to the real truth, that inner wisdom that we all have.

13 Ways To Love Your Authentic Self More And Embrace Who You Are

True personal power comes from embracing your authentic self.

It’s what allows you to tend to your fierceness and offer yourself to the world as you are

You know your bumpy spots and sticky points, and you love yourself in all of that.

Your fear of being negatively judged by others can stop you from being yourself.  

So you make yourself more palatable, you do the “right and expected” things, in order to be  accepted instead of judged.

It can feel like you always hiding behind a mask, so far away from embracing your authentic self.

Living like this will leave you feeling unfulfilled, unsatisfied and even empty. Speaking from personal experience here!

They say only about 5% of your thoughts are new and original thoughts. 

This means that at least 95% of you is habitual thinking playing out in autopilot mode.

It’s super efficient to not reinvent the wheel every time, but it also means that often we are not living our lives consciously and with intention.  

Getting out of autopilot mode can be uncomfortable and even challenging, but this is the way to live a more fulfilling and satisfying life.

It’s the most direct and sure answer that I know of to become more of your authentic self.  

Often we have this misconstrued idea that if we are hard enough on ourselves, then it would help us to be better and perform better. 

And the opposite is actually true.

When you habitually speak to yourself unkindly, you activate your nervous system and go into what I call survival mode.  

And the other most direct and sure thing that I know is that in survival mode, it is really hard to tap into your own truth and authenticity.

How To Find Validation Within (Learn To Finally Overcome Low Self Worth And Grow Your Confidence)

Low self-worth.  It’s an insidious sneaky feeling of never being enough.

So you’ve done all the inner work, and you’re still struggling with feelings of not being good enough, constantly second-guessing yourself and feeling that you are behind, somehow. 

There are some very good reasons why you may still be struggling with low self-worth, despite your best efforts. 

Way too often we use our external world as a measure to inform us about who we are as people and how we should show up. So a crucial ingredient in healing your own sense of self-worth is to find your worthiness within yourself. To know that you are enough as you are.

Many of us are very skilled in doing mindset work, and we are well-practised in living from our minds.  I also call it being skilled in our masculine energy. And mindset work on its own is simply not going to cut it.  

When we begin this journey towards Self from where we embody our own worthiness enoughness, we want to also develop the skill of tapping into our feminine truth, into our feminine flow.

This goes beyond mindset work. The truth of you can be experienced through the inner landscape of your being, your inner world, which you can reach through your body. 

How To Find Validation Within (Learn To Finally Overcome Low Self Worth And Grow Your Confidence)

Low self worth and insecurity can be overcome! A first step is to take responsibility for all of those things in your life that you have control over that you can change or transform.  

Once you have created that awareness of what it is that you want to change, you are ready to go deeper within so that you can land on the truth of feeling worthy and feeling confident.  

Cracking the confidence code (this is a framework that I use with my clients) will ultimately support you to align your life, your choices and your actions with the internal values that you discover, instead of trying to align your choices and who you are being to an external picture of what you think success, worthiness or value looks like.

How To Embody Your Self-Worth, Feel More Confident And Overcome Self-Doubt

Self-doubt and insecurity often stand in the way of personal fulfilment and believing in yourself.

When you have confidence in yourself you can finally start speaking up for your needs, stick to your resolutions and trust your decisions. 

A big barrier that many women have is they think that they need to fix certain things about themselves first before they can have the confidence to be themselves, (I use to believe this too!).  

Of course, it is not true.  You are not broken. There is nothing about you that needs to be fixed. 

But this is how our minds can work against us.

We have a habitual way of being, and we have all of these patterns that are an automatic replay.  It is part of the wonderful efficiency of our brains, and it just makes it easier for us to get on in the world.

And now of course, if this pattern or this narrative is one that’s supporting you, then that’s great. But the truth is, for so many of us, this habitual way of being which feeds our thinking can work against us in so many different areas of our life. 

Whether it’s at work where you don’t want to speak up for yourself, whether it’s in a relationship, where you keep on attracting the same people, or whether it is you trying to change your lifestyle, but you always go back to your old ways of being.

So this is the obvious question then, how to create a new habitual way of being that eliminates self-doubt? 

It starts with the belief that it is possible even for you to cultivate a deep sense of your own self worth and the confidence that comes as a result of that.

5 Blocks to Expressing Your Authentic Self (And How To Heal)

Do you feel like you are able to show up as yourself?

So often it can be really challenging for us to be ourselves.

We hold ourselves back from standing out and being seen because it feels scary and unsafe.

Or, we don’t even know who we are under the layers of everything we’ve been told we should be.

Healing the relationship with yourself, and the constellation of internalised patriarchy are some of the first steps to being able to show up as your authentic self.

This internalised patriarchy (and we all live in this soup pot, not only women!), tells us that we are too much, not enough. Too sensitive, not nurturing enough.

It is the internalised patriarchy that makes you feel guilty for “not working hard enough” when instead you are lying on the couch to rest.

So, we first need to dismantle this internally in order for us to show up differently in the world.

Another reason why we find it so hard to be our authentic selves is that most of us have heard since childhood how we should be in order to be acceptable and lovable.

Not much room for authenticity there…
