Your level of self-respect is directly related to your level of self-expression. How freely you express yourself is directly related to you confidence. All-in-all this affects your sense of wellbeing. This is another 2-minute tip where I give you the quick and low on how to grow your self-respect.
1. Stand up for yourself
This is the opposite of putting yourself down, or making jokes at your own expense. Treating yourself respectfully, will grow self-respect.
2. Create boundaries
Learn to say no. We find that hard because we don’t want to disappoint people, or we want their approval. Part of standing up for yourself is do decide how you want others to treat you, and establishing strong personal boundaries.
Your self-respect is affected in one way or another by almost everything you do. Whether it is the words you use, or the actions you take. Your interactions with others and the decisions you make, all have an effect on your level of self-respect.
That’s it for this week, see you next time!
